The Ridge Tahoe
This project called for the construction of three residential buildings containing more than 100 vacation time share units. With a Sierra Nevada mountain setting and proximity to Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, these luxury units were designed and constructed with many high-quality interior and exterior amenities requiring high standards of construction. These three structures consisted of one 48-unit, 11-story building and two 6-story buildings, all with parking garages. One of the three structures (Building 13) was structural steel construction with composite decks and massive poured concrete footings. The two other structures consisted of Building 15, which utilized poured in-place post tension concrete, while Building 16 was a poured in-place garage with the tower using masonry walls with pre-cast planks.
Clark/Sullivan faced problems pertaining to soil conditions, seismic requirements, base rock restrictions, project noise, high winds and harsh weather conditions expected at a mountainous 7,500 foot elevation.
“Clark/Sullivan worked under adverse weather conditions, restricted access and our ongoing business activity without missing a beat to complete our project on time. Looking back at the whole project, constructing an 11-story building on the side of a mountain at 7,500 foot elevation with snow and winds to 80 mph is a credit to your organization. Our thanks to you for a difficult job well done.” – Ronald J. Wilhite, President n
