C/S was selected to lead the multi-phase expansion and improvement project at the Nevada Cares Campus in Reno, NV, aimed at enhancing support services for the region’s most vulnerable communities. This comprehensive development reflects C/S’s commitment to creating impactful, community-focused spaces.

Phase 2: Restroom/Shower/Laundry Facilities
Timeline: June 2022 - November 2023
Budget: $12 Million
This phase involved the construction of two restroom/shower/laundry facilities, each approximately 4,200 square feet, to significantly improve hygiene resources for campus residents. In addition to these new facilities, enhancements were made to the existing sprung emergency shelter, including the installation of partition walls, private cubbies, and upgraded door security systems to provide a safer and more dignified living environment.

Phase 3: Intake/Welcome Center & Resource Center
Timeline: April 2023 - July 2024
Budget: $28 Million
The Intake/Welcome Center is a two-story, 20,000 square-foot building that serves as the primary access and egress point for the entire campus, managing over 1,000 transits daily. Designed as the central hub, it offers a comprehensive range of services, including social work, healthcare, counseling, and therapy, ensuring residents have access to essential support. Adjacent to it, the 18,000 square-foot Resource Center extends similar services to non-residents, reinforcing the campus’s role as a critical community resource.

Phase 4: Transitional Housing Units
Timeline: October 2023 - February 2025
Budget: $20 Million
This phase focuses on the construction of 50 studio-style apartments to provide temporary housing and stability for those transitioning out of homelessness. The inclusion of a day center for group activities and additional security measures highlights C/S’s dedication to fostering safe and supportive living environments.

This project underscores C/S’s expertise in managing complex, community-driven developments that make a meaningful difference.
