Job Description

Clark/Sullivan Construction (C/S) has an immediate career opportunity for a full-time, on-site Safety & Quality Control Manager to join our team in Reno, NV on an active airport campus. Safety is our highest priority and this role is critical in upholding the most stringent standards while ensuring construction excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Safety & Quality Control Manager on an active airport project, the role will be primarily responsible for the following:

Safety Leadership (Top Priority):

  • Champion and enforce a culture of safety above all else—zero tolerance for unsafe work practices.
  • Ensure project complies with all NV OSHA requirements and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with airport-specific safety protocols and FAA regulations, including badging, airfield access, and logistics.
  • Lead jobsite safety orientations, inspections, audits, and hazard analysis.
  • Investigate safety incidents thoroughly and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Coordinate with airport safety officials and other agencies to ensure seamless safety integration.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):

  • Develop, implement, and manage the QA/QC program tailored for this technically complex site.
  • Conduct inspections and monitor field performance to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure rigorous documentation of inspections, tests, and field conditions—track and resolve all non-conformances.

Team Integration & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to integrate safety and quality requirements into daily operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to FAA, airport authority, and building code compliance throughout the project.
  • Conduct training and daily coordination on safety and QA/QC matters.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive ongoing improvement by analyzing trends, incorporating lessons learned, and implementing innovative practices.
  • Encourage use of technology (e.g., Procore) to streamline reporting and accountability.
Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years in construction safety and quality management roles.
  • Experience on active campuses (airport, healthcare, or similarly regulated environments) strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA/airport operations protocols and public safety compliance.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required; CHST, STS-C, or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to pass airport background checks and drug screening.
